A small bit of coverage on Rick's new book hit the press today -- including The Pittsburgh Post-Gazette's "Santorum's book urges more moms stay home" and the AP story "Santorum compares abortion to slavery in new book" on CNN.com.
On ABCNews.com, there's a slightly different twist on the AP story, "Santorum Criticizes Views of Sen. Clinton.":
Sen. Rick Santorum compares abortion to slavery in his new book "It Takes a Family: Conservatism and the Common Good," which is being promoted as an alternative to the views of Sen. Hillary Rodham Clinton.
The book by Santorum, R-Pa., was in Washington bookstores on Tuesday. It describes his evolution from a young politician uncomfortable with abortion to a major player in the anti-abortion movement.

I don't know if the link will work, but from here, but that is the link.
I am a PA resident that happens to live in the Pittsburgh area and have heard all kinds of stories about him already. I cannot wait to see him go!
Most women who work do not have the choice to work out of the house or stay home, social conservatives and the international corporate thieves they are in bed with have worked it out that you now must now have two earners in every family just to make ends meet. Santorum is a civil servant and has the ability to make decisions about public education yet his Children are too good to go the public schools. The uncivil venom is coming from Santourm and his friends not from most Americans. The
Santorums views on abortion are way out of the center of American thought, no mother makes this decision lightly and it is an insult to think that parents take this decision just for their happiness, and yes we do regard the mothers life in greater standing of a fetus not yet able to survive out of the womb, and any way Its non of Rick Santorum Dame Business!!
As a wife, mother and Physician who has worked all her professional life in Philadelphia, I am appalled at his negative commentary regarding working mothers and his blaming "radical Feminism". From what planet did he come?
Who gave him the right to attack working women. Yes, we are educated, professional, competent, and trained in our chosen fields. We love what we do. Our children only benefit from this positive female role model which we provide. We give our children the tools to see BOTH responsible parents out in the world using their education and skills and certainly not at any expense to the family.
How narrow minded of him. I am ashamed he represents our state.
And his statement regarding equating abortion with slavery is so misguided.
I wrote Santorum and asked what he had been doing in his regard. His response was that he hadf co-sponsered legislation for funding educational programs. In point of fact, the legislation decreased what was allocated to this, ther poorest of minorities in the US. It was part of the majority's plan to cut back the amount of time one could receive welfare, allegedly in exchange for more job training. Not surprisingly, any such job training was offered far from the reservations of the Plains States, with no means of transportation for those whose families could spare them for the duration.
Doesn't he study history - it is only been about 100 or so years that women could stay home to raise their children if they so chose. In the 19th century and prior only women of extreme privilege had time to play, the rest were working 7 days a week to scrape by.
Ugh. This guy is SUCH a backward knuckle-dragger.
The people who really need to "out" this cretin are those who are hard-working but traditional Americans who might have large famiies and are home-schooling but don't have the perks of the Santorum Bunch. Do you think Mrs. Santorum is trolling the aisles at her local Costco (and Wal-Mart) buying tubs of margarine and boxes of crackers to make her meals stretch? I doubt it.
That personal driver is probably not the only employee on the Santorum Family payroll. If they've got a driver and two homes, you can bet they've got "help".
What are the Santorum children really learning in their exalted household? That someday Sissy will marry a man just like dear old dad and never have to work a day in her life? Or that "other" people are the ones who have to do the dirty work but WE get to proselytize until we turn blue? There is only one other family that even comes close to the bizarre-ness of the Santorums - and that is the Rev. Fred Phelps "God Hates Fags" traveling religious fanatics from Topeka Kansas. The Rev's got 13 kids - looks like Rick and Karen have some catching up to do.
