Rick appeared on CNN's "Newsnight" last night, and Atrios asked if he had heard him correctly about his view of Griswold v. Connecticut:
"Did little Ricky just say on Aaron Brown what I thought he said? That Griswold was wrongly decided, and that therefore the state has the right to regulate the use of birth control by married couples?"
Yes he certainly did. Here's the video:
Windows Media QuicktimeAaron Brown also asked Rick about his remarks blaming the clergy sexual abuse scandal on the liberal culture of Boston. Rick said that when he originally made the statement, in 2002, he didn't realize that the abuse had happened in other cities. He says that now he understands that his statement actually applies to many other cities as well. Here's the video:
"venemous, misguided, and politically self-serving attacks on an entire region's culture, while ignoring the responsibility of the organization which allowed and, in fact, helped perpetuate said abuses through cover-ups and stonewalls"
-only two years? How can he be expected to comment on such ancient texts. Geez.
And guess what else was said recently, on Hannity's radio show by L. Brent Bozell, on Roberts:
..he's a devout Catholic, he's not a John Kerry Catholic, he's a devout Catholic.
Totally nuts.

Bob Casey is also a devout Catholic. However, Casey appears to have remembered at least some of the Catholic teachings on social justice as well, something Mr. Santorum seems to have forgotten.
The only way Santorum can try to out-Catholic Casey is to try to appeal to the hardest right part of the Catholic Church. Not only will this fail, but I wouldn't be surpised to see Santorum lose the Catholic vote as well.
On time and up and coming.
I'd say, go for it, Rick!
