You know how you feel when you call your best friend and they don't call you back? It upsets you, doesn't it?
Well, Rick Santorum says that's how he feels when homosexuals engage in homosexual acts.
Okay, he didn't say exactly that. But it is the parallel that Rick drew when Ed Gordon asked him what he meant by his prior statement that he isn't against homosexuals, he is just against homosexual acts.
When you listen to the audio, you'll notice that Rick gets pretty indignant (almost downright rude) during his answer. We're starting to get the impression that he doesn't like it when interviewers challenge him.
Here's the audio, please listen.
I know from experience; posters and readers will know in the past I've talked about my time in PA as a journalist and my interviewing Santorum was never easy, if you asked him anything even remotely tough.
I heard Santorum bristle right through the phone line more than once if someone asked him too tough a question on his weekly conference call/gabfest...you can tell when his blood pressure's rising, because he can't control anger that anyone dare cross him.
Most interviewers didn't, either because they liked him or were afraid of getting kicked off the conference call.
No, Senator Rick does not like being questioned, as he, in all his genius is always right, at least in his own mind.
I am glad to see finally somebody getting to him and demanding some answers; half-truths is all we get but at least it's the beginning of the end for this charlatan.
Just like the non-rational Left to equate homosexuality with race. For one homosexuality is a disorder no matter what the semanticists of the American Psychological Association and American Psychiatric Association say.
You honestly think that saying you are against homosexual acts, but not against homosexuals isn't a display of semantic gymnastics?
Clinical professionals do not characterize homosexuality as a disorder. But, you, in your infinite wisdom, clearly know better. And like most wingnuts you feel no obligation or desire to present any sort of facts or evidence to back up your pronouncement. It is true merely because you will it so.
Bravo, sir.
Thank you for your thoughtful post. I look forward to a time when you begin using the forward parts of your brain.
Until then, keep it up. We'll track your progress for you.
You have made me think. I don't like smoking. I do not dislike smokers. Smoking is not only bad for your health, it is bad for the health of those around you, namely family. Spouses and children exposed to smoke are not healthy. The family is less healthy. You following? I propose a new law that bans marriage by smokers. Not because I dislike smokers (only the act thereof), but really because I want to protect the health of the family. We can not build a nation on sick families. We can call it the "Defense of Marriage act" (Catchy isn't it?) What do you say?
Thanks for the inspiration. I gotta go call Sen. Santorum. Get the ball rolling.
Though I appreciate your attempt at an analogy, you're way off. Sen. Santorum saying he is against homosexual acts not homosexuals is much more like you saying that you dislike it when someone smokes behind closed doors in the privacy of their own home where the smoke they exhale never gets anywhere near you, but you don't mind smokers.
Those of us who don't like smoking are not making a religiously based, moral judgment about smokers' behavior. Santorum is making exactly that type of judgment about homosexuals and their behavior, whether he wants to admit it or not.
Also notice how Rick is trying to use examples of how nice other people would be to prove he isn't an asshole. Well played, Senator. Well played.
You don't have to get to know a guy to find out if he's black. Or white. Or asian. But whites, blacks and asians might be gay.
But the Santorum basic failure of owning and operating a brain (if you believe he believes the bullshit he speaks) is in equating sex with a human with sex with a dog. I am a man, not a dog. I don't have sex with men, but see a clear difference between men and dogs.
Santorum degrades our race. Just like he defames the cultural and racial pluralism that forced this country into the global role as cultural, political and just-plain boss. He and his freaks want sharia, so we can be more like the enemy they so carefully husband.
Santorum gets his information on gay issues from the best Pedophiles that your Aunt Bess's money can buy for the Catholic Church, as well as from discredited quacks like Paul Cameron.
